Coconut fibers are attached to the base with glue. Not all fibers are held in the same way, so it is completely normal for some fibers to detach at the beginning of use.

Each doormat is made from the husk of approximately 25 coconuts. The husks are first soaked in coastal lagoons before being hand-beaten to extract the fiber.
