Gustav Klimt Duck
Born in Baumgarten, now Vienna, on July 14, 1862, Gustav Klimt studied architectural painting at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. In 1891, he joined the Vienna Artists' Association but left it again six years later. In 1897 he founded the Viennese Secession - he resigned again in 1905. The same year he became a member of the German Association of Artists. 1917, he becomes honorary member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Gustav Klimt preferred to go on a summer vacation to Lake Attersee in Upper Austria, where he painted most of his landscape paintings. He never got married, but he did have a few relationships. Gustav Klimt died of a stroke on February 6, 1918 in Vienna. His most famous paintings are "The Kiss", "Adèle Bloch-Bauer I", "Judith I" and the "Beethoven Frieze".
