The internal light turns on when in contact with water and turns off when the duck is removed. The Glow-in-the-Duck's battery life is approximately 45 hours, which equates to 180 fifteen minute baths! All ducks contain x3 LR44 (AG13) button batteries and color changing LEDs. The batteries are accessible via a small hatch sealed at the bottom of the duck. The batteries are replaceable on most models.
